Deborah L. Geering-Fend, O.D.

Dr. Geering-Fend, O.D. was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1959. She spent her childhood in Ohio, Kansas, and Iowa. After graduating from High School in Wilton, Iowa she began working as an optician for the optometrist that she went to as a child. She enrolled in a nine month Optometric Assistant Program at the North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City, Iowa. After completing that course she worked as an optician and office manager for approximately ten years.

In 1985 Dr. Geering-Fend moved to Southern California to continue her education in the field of optometry. She enrolled at El Camino College and was working full time as the office manager for Sumio Taniguchi, O.D. and Stan Matsuoka, O.D. in Torrance, CA. She transferred to California State Long Beach to continue her undergraduate studies. In 1991 she started her studies at the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton. After the completion of her second year, she received her Bachelors of Visual Science. In 1995 she received her Doctor of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry.

To expand her experience in the eye care field, she practiced as an Optometrist from 1995 to 2007 with Wolstan Eye Associates, a prominent eye care institute and ophthalmology practice in Torrance. She also is currently working with Robert L. Shapiro, O.D., a private optometry practice located in the South Bay.

In May of 2007 she purchased a part-time practice as a visiting optometrist in the remote town of Petersburg, to provide needed eye care for Alaska Natives as well as the town residence. In addition,in June of 2007, she opened her own optometry office in Torrance.

Mr. Ernie A. Rounsefell, Optician

Ernie Rounsefell was born in Hawthorne and raised in Torrance. He graduated from West High school in Torrance. He received an Associate in Arts degree from El Camino College. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Cal State at Dominguez Hills. He is a Certified Optician with over twenty-five years of experience. He is married with two children. Ernie has worked at different optical practices in the South Bay since learning the basis about glasses and every aspect related to glasses while still in high school. For the past twelve years he worked with a prominent Ophthalmologist in the Del Amo Medical Bldg. Recently he has joint the Deborah L. Geering-Fend O.D. practice in the Del Amo Medical Bldg. If experience counts, Ernie has it. He will help you see better and look better!
